After the Sunset Movie Review
After The Sunset is about a pair of jewel thieves (Pierce Brosnan and Salma Hayek) that after their last heist, retire to the Bahamas. They have left behind their life of crime to enjoy the sun, sand, sea and their ill-gotten gains. The disgruntled federal agent (Woody Harrelson), who has been trying to link the pair unsuccessfully to the crimes, manages to track them down to their hideaway. He makes his presence known to the pair and follows their every move. The local girl cop displays a feisty, but at times sensitive side and teams up with Harrelson's character. Meanwhile a liner pulls in to dock for a number of days, on which is secured the last 'Napoleon' diamond. A local gangster attempts to enrol the pair to steal the diamond, but they refuse and only give them plans on the best way to steal it.

Well that's the premise of the story and I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed it, but then again I have always been partial to a good 'thief' story. Pierce Brosnan's other fairly recent effort with the remaking of 'The Thomas Crown Affair', although not greatly received by the media critics, was in my opinion, a great piece of entertainment. This film is equally fun to watch. It doesn't take itself too seriously and combines action, drama and comedy. It is a really good light-hearted film. The two leading characters, (Brosnan and Harrelson), play off each other brilliantly, goading each other throughout. There are a number sequences throughout where the pair attempt to bond. The fishing trip is especially fun and although it does not really add to the story, (other than to show the guys getting on with each other), it is never-the-less a nice touch that injects in some comedy.

The characters are all played in a relaxed, laid back way which really suits the overall feel of the film. For a piece of armchair entertainment I would highly recommend this and I will be watching this again very soon.
