SRP: £19.99

Picture

The picture presented in 4:3 video is extremely varied throughout. The concert footage is very soft and contains no real detail, but plenty of artefacts within the image. The other footage is better with some stronger definition in the colours and detail on show, but it is not perfect. Overall this is an acceptable image for music promos.

Sound

It is a real pity that this DVD did not include at least a Dolby Digital 5.1 track, or better still a dts or PCM track, Instead we get downmixed Dolby 2.0 stereo. The dynamics are good and the songs sound clear and concise with good vocal clarity, but I did find that the overall feel for the music was not as precise as it could have been. The bass in particular seemed to be slow and distorted, and not as sharp in audio terms as the accompanying CD in this pack.

Extras

The main extras in this package are three AOL session videos for Wanksta, In Da Club and Round Here, as well as two documentaries and a trailer for 8 mile. Also included in the pack is an audio CD containing the tracks True Loyalty, 8 Mile Rd, and In Da Hood. Again the Picture quality varies throughout, but never gets too distracting, and the extras are interesting and very watchable
50 Cent: The New Breed
For the New Breed in Rap we get a good selection of extras but more attention could have been paid to the audio visuals which at best are average
