    xXx Superbit DVD Review
    SRP: £26.95

    Picture

Presented in 2.35:1 Anamorphic Widescreen the image is just gorgeous. The highbite transfer gives us a super stable image, with copious amounts of fine detail on show. The colours are vivid with strong with solid blacks and no apparent bleeding or blooming problems. There is a small amount of edge enhancement on show and one or two scenes were grain can be seen, but overall this is a top notch, clean and clear transfer. Top Marks.

    Sound

Presented in Both dts and Dolby Digital 5.1 sound, the mix is extremely aggressive right from the start and it never lets up for a minute. There is some intelligent use of split surrounds which if not used for explosions or effects, has the rock/metal soundtrack playing loud. LFE is thunderous during most of the action set pieces, yet in all this chaos the dialogue is strong and clear. There is a marked improvement between the dts and Dolby track, with the dts mix providing a more dynamic and enveloping experience, with crystal clear high end and tighter and lower bass control. Again this is demo quality sound mixing.

    Verdict

A mildly entertaining romp that doesn't take itself to seriously, and is presented here with a top class image and aggressive dts soundtrack.
