Wwe: Wrestlemania Xx DVD Review
PictureSurely it's time for the WWE to
embrace the 21st Century and start
recording and broadcasting its live events
in widescreen? As it is, the Wrestlemania
XX DVD presents the pay-per-view in its
original 4:3 aspect ratio. Colours are bold
and bright (a little too bright on occasions),
while detail levels are about as good as
you expect from this kind of material.
SoundUnlike the majority of the WWE
DVD releases, Wrestlemania XX has been
remixed into Dolby Digital 5.1. The
surrounds are mainly used for crowd noise
and, as such, do a good job of making the
viewer feel like a spectator at the event.
Dialogue is pretty clear throughout and
bass is satisfyingly deep.
ExtrasThere are a few extras (TV
promos, post-match interviews and the
like) accompanying the second half of the
event on the second disc, but the majority
of are consigned to the third disc. Here
you'll find am enjoyable 43-minute behindthe-
scenes documentary, three deleted
scenes from the documentary, highlights
from Wrestlemania's Ten Greatest Matches
Ever, galleries of facts, results and photos
from the 19 previous Wrestlemanias.
VerdictWhile it might not be the best Wrestlemania
ever, in terms of quality Wrestlemania XX is
certainly up there with the best WWE DVDs on
Suggested retail price when reviewed: £29.99
