    Walking Tall DVD Review
    SRP: £28.98

Presented in 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen the image is clean and crisp from the outset. Detail levels are high and close ups look very good with pore lines and skin texture looking realistic. Colours are rich and vivid with no signs of bleed or bloom and compression artefacts are almost non-existent. Edge Enhancement is present and can at times annoy and distract from your viewing pleasure, most noticeable when The Rock and his Love interest are walking up the drive way of his home, this long shot has halos around both characters. Overall the image has great depth and looks impressive.
    Walking Tall Picture

For an old school action movie with plenty of on set stunts and fights the soundtrack is rather laid back and not nearly as aggressive as you would imagine. Dynamics are good and the surrounds are used to carry the score and occasional sound effect. Dialogue is intelligible and well balanced and LFE is used now and again to under pin the action.
    Walking Tall Sound

The extras start with two audio commentaries, one from the Rock and the other from the production staff including the director. Next up is an 8 minute promo fluff piece on the fight scenes, a very short blooper reel, and overlong and uninteresting alternate ending, trailers and an MGM featurette on Species III. Rounding off are some deleted scenes and a photo gallery. Very average to be honest and certainly watch once extras.
    Walking Tall Extras

The term pop corn flick comes to mind. Not a great movie but then again it's not that bad and doesn't out stay it's welcome, audio and video are above average yet the extras disappoint.
