This is a solid offering from UNKLE, despite not being their strongest work. Perhaps not as bass and beat-orientated as some of their previous offerings, I like the feel to many of the tracks, particularly those that showcase an influence from Massive Attack and Hybrid. The second CD is remarkably good as well - sometimes a remix CD can find itself gathering dust from lack of playing but this is an unusual exception to that case. Perhaps not a bad introductory album for the work of UNKLE, this is sure to appeal to a more general customer base, but dedicated fans of their work are definitely going to notice the absence of DJ Shadow both in body and soul. Still, with a duo of very playable CDs and a bunch of welcome collaborators on board for the project, this represents great value for money.
