The September Sessions DVD Review

    SRP: £17.99

    Picture

Filmed entirely on 16mm film, the picture quality here is rather good indeed. There is plenty of detail in the image with natural looking colours which are stable with no signs of blooming or bleed. Overall everything looks sharp and well detailed with no edge enhancement or artefacts present.

    Sound

The soundtrack is presented in Dolby 2.0 stereo and sounds very good. Dialogue is natural and clear and the music tracks sound dynamic. There are no surround effects or panning used for this feature but then again the film is 45 minutes of surfing action with a music track featured throughout, so there is just no need for over the top sound. What is presented here is good however and compliments the images nicely.

    Extras

The extras feature a choice of Left or Right footage (that's when a surfer goes left or right into the wave I think) a behind the scenes feature with interviews and additional surfing footage and two additional commentary tracks.

    Verdict

If you like surfing you will enjoy this feature on a standard DVD presentation.
