    The Calcium Kid DVD Review

    Picture

Not sure if the film was meant to look like it is filmed on a digicam, or if it actually was. Colours are accurate but not especially strong with limited shadow detail. Some scenes suffered quite a bit of picture noise.

    Sound

The Dolby Digital soundtrack is good quality, but there is little in this movie to really stretch your system given the documentary nature of footage! Where given the chance effects are lively and well suited to the scene with a certain ambience channelled throughout he rear channels where relevant.

    Extras

A handful of deleted scenes and an outtake reel plus a musical trailer for Orland Bloom's Billy Elliot. At first glance quite a thin bunch of extras, a couple of deleted scenes could've made it to final cut although nothing was lost by not. The outtakes however are very entertaining, and almost all revolve around the hilarious antics of Herbie (Omid Djalili) including a side-splitting contagious laughter reel!!!!

    Verdict

A good bit of mindless comedy that could've done with a better written storyline to really make it worthwhile. A good laugh and something different, but I won't be rushing out to buy a copy.
