    Predator 2 Review
The Predator is easily one of the coolest aliens in modern day film. Sure, the alien in Ridley Scott's film was impressive as were its three sequels. Fox, however really created a monster (no pun intended) in John McTiernan's Predator. Sure, the film was designed as an Arnold Schwarzenegger vehicle but the alien stole the entire film with his cool look and impressive weaponry. With the first film being set in the jungle, Fox moved the action in the sequel to another jungle - Los Angeles. The downside is the start of the movie states it is the year 1997 which immediately dates the film. Don't worry as Predator 2 is easily one of the best sequels ever made. The first film had Arnie and a cast of reliable character actors including Carl Weathers and Jesse Ventura. Predator 2 stars Danny Glover fresh off the second Lethal Weapon and a feast of even more seasoned pro's including Gary Busey, Bill Paxton and chat show host, Morton Downey Jr.

Police detective Mike Harrigan (Danny Glover) is having a really bad day. Rival gangs have been wiped out by a mysterious force and now he has to contend with the FBI poking their nose where it doesn't belong. After being warned off by the Feds led by Gary (Mr Joshua from Lethal Weapon) Busey, Harrigan begins his own investigation and comes face to face with the Predator....

Predator 2 is a slam bang action film with great one liners, lots of violence and a fantastic LOUD soundtrack. Like I said above, it is one of the best sequels ever made. Maybe not quite as good as the original, but part one did have Arnie, the Indian, Billy with the great laugh and the legendary Bill Duke, the bald guy in Commando who tells Arnie “This Green Beret's gonna kick your Ass” and Arnie replies “I eat Green Berets for breakfast”. The late Kevin Peter Hall returns once again as the Predator and shows us once again his passing was a great shame because apart from Peter Mayhew as Chewbacca no other tall actor could play a character in make up so well. (Kevin played Harry in “Harry and the Hendersons”).One big criticism is the extremely annoying anti piracy films which are now constantly cropping up on DVD's. I, myself deplore piracy but you should be able to skip these films and not have to fast forward them or even sometimes have to watch them fully. It was bad enough on trailers at the start of VHS tapes!!!
