The 973 which was first showcased at IFA last September and represents Philips's new flagship OLED TV. It uses a 65" 4K OLED panel and includes a built-in soundbase for superior sound quality. The 973 fully reflects the company’s focus on outstanding European design and craftsmanship, using natural materials throughout with a glass backed panel and an all-metal construction, as well as Philips's proprietary three-sided Ambilight.
There is a 6.1 high-end 60W sound system within the stand which features six front firing drivers - mounted in the aluminum and Kvadrat speaker cloth covered integrated sound base. The sound base can be used either on a table top or wall mounted, in either case, the speaker cloth remains clearly visible and the sound base delivers the same superior sound quality. The 973 also includes the P5 picture processing engine and support for HDR10, HDR10+ and Hybrid Log-Gamma.
The 65” OLED 973 is powered by the Android M Smart TV system and is certified by Google, giving access to all TV orientated apps, services, and content in the Google Play Store while also complementing the existing Philips Smart TV offering. Effective operation and fast navigation is possible thanks to powerful Quad Core processing and the 973 also comes with the two controllers – a dual-sided remote and a simplified version. The 65" 973 will also be available in the UK in the first half of the year but pricing has yet to be confirmed.
