Panasonic TX-55DX650B Ultra HD 4K TV

A retailer-exclusive Ultra HD TV

by Steve Withers

What is the Panasonic DX650?

The DX650 is a retailer-exclusive version of Panasonic's entry-level DX600 Ultra HD 4K LED LCD TV. This version comes in two screen sizes, 49- and 55-inches. The TX-55DX650B is the 55-inch version and, along with an Ultra HD panel, it includes 800Hz BMR with IFC 4K and 4K Pure Direct. The DX650 uses a 50Hz 8-bit VA panel and features a different design to the DX600, with a clear frame bezel. Aside from that the DX650 is identical to the DX6090 with a stand that consists of a pedestal that can be used in one of two configurations, allowing you to fit the TV on a narrower surface. In addition there is quad-core processing, along with Firefox, My Home Screen 2.0 and USB HDD recording; as well as HEVC and VP9 decoding and Freeview Play.
