Picture

For a low brow comedy, Dreamworks have given this disc a fabulous 2.35:1 transfer that is razor sharp and oozes detail. Colours are rich and bright with solid blacks and natural fresh tones. The image has a three dimensional look to it which is only spoilt by slight edge enhancement seen now and again.

Sound

Dreamworks also give us the now standard choice of DTS and Dolby Digital 5.1 soundtracks. Both are almost identical with a nice rich dynamic sound field which most of the time resides squarely at the front three channels. Now and again the sound stage opens up to include some nice rear effects and some wickedly deep bass during the Snoop Dog track. All the music tracks sound rich and full on thanks to the DTS mix, just check out the Metallica track during the abduction sequence. Other wise both soundtracks offer the goods, with good dialogue which sounds natural.

Extras

Included are a very amusing Commentary track with the director and three stars, which is well worth a listen. There is a little bit of technical information but the majority of the track is just the four men having a good laugh at the movie. Next are 13 minutes of deleted scenes with come without a commentary track but are very funny and were only dropped to keep the movie at 90 minutes. Also included is a 21 minute Inside The Actors Studio Spoof, hosted by Farrell and including interviews with the main cast and Director, it is an acquired taste but very funny in places. Rounding up the discs extras are a 13 minute Making Of Featurette, A Trailer, Four TV Spots, Cast bios, production notes and a Photo Gallery.
Old School Unrated
A brilliantly funny low brow comedy on an excellent disc with very funny extras included, highly recommended.
