    What is the Hisense 40K321?

This budget 40" Ultra HD TV is available online for just £400, which is cheaper than much of the 1080p competition. For that less than princely sum, you still get access to some key video streaming apps, as well some up-to-date processing features and connectivity.

This is a preview of the upcoming 40K321 model and will be replaced with the full in-depth review as soon as we have measured and reviewed the final retail sample. In the meantime here is a run down of the features we can expect to see.

    K321 Picture Quality Features

The Ultra HD, 3840x2160 resolution of the the 40K321 provides four times more detail than a conventional 1080p TV. There's no support for 3D or HDR on this model, however, and the colour gamut is tied to the HD, rather than Ultra HD standards, so it's not as wide as some of the more expensive models. There are HDMI 2.0/HDCP 2.2 compliant inputs though, so you will be able to plug in the latest video sources and the K321 can crucially decode HEVC (H.265) too.

    Smart TV and Other Specs

There K321 features built-in video streaming apps including Ultra HD Netflic, YouTube and Amazon; there's also BBC iPlayer and a built-in media player with support for a large number of formats, including JPG, BMP, PNG, GIF, WEBP (3D), MPO (3D), JPS (3D), PNS (3D) images; FLAC, MP2, MP3, OGG, WAV, WMA audio and AVI, WMV, ASF, MP4, MOV, 3GP, MKV, MPG, MPEG, VOB, RM, OGM, FLV video files.
