The 1.85:1 anamorphic image presented here is very good indeed with a real three dimensional look to it. The image is sharp with plenty of fine detail on show with a crisp clarity to it. The dark colour palette is accurately presented with solid blacks and plenty of shadow detail present. There are no signs of any digital artefacts such as edge enhancement with only a slight problem present with grain in certain places, but this does not detract from the overall image.

The Dolby Digital 5.1 soundtrack is not quite as aggressive as past horror fare, but during the action scenes on the ship the surrounds are well used with good split effects and deep powerful bass. Dialogue is clear and natural and the overall sound mix feels strong with good dynamics.

A fine Saturday night popcorn movie with an excellent presentation on disc.
