    Fargo: Special Edition DVD Review
    SRP: £19.99

    Picture

Framed at 1.85:1 and presented anamorphically, Fargo has an efficient, good-looking transfer. The image is solid with a good level of detail, while what colour there is in the snowy wastes is dealt with well. Best of all, there is almost no artefacting to be seen on background surfaces.

    Sound

While the DD 5.1 sound mix offered here barely gets the chance to flex its muscles, it still does the job nicely. Ambience is convincingly represented in the surrounds, while dialogue sounds naturalistic and convincing.

    Extras

We are more than happy with the extras on this special edition. Start at the top of the extras menu and you'll find a commentary from Roger Deakins, who offers a fascinating insight into the production. You also get a production documentary called Minnesota Nice, an onscreen trivia track, an interview with the Coens themselves, a Coen actors family tree, trailers and a photo gallery.

    Verdict

Fargo is in the running for the Coen brothers' best film ever, and the disc is fabulous. How can you say no?
