    Elf: Infinifilm Edition DVD Review
    SRP: £29.98

    Picture

Presented in 1.85:1 anamorphic transfer and a 1.33:1 full frame version. For this review we concentrated on the 1.85:1 transfer. Everything looks very good with a nice sharpness to the image and colours are well saturated with solid blacks and some good shadow detail. There were a few problems with slight pixelation issues and edge enhancement seen now and again.

    Sound

The sound mix is lively if not entirely enveloping with a nice dynamic range. Dialogue is intelligible and easily followed with a nice wide front soundstage. Overall for a comedy movie the audio is lively and well produced.

    Extras

The usual infinifilm features are present here with quite a healthy amount of supplemental features to wade through. The usual commentary track is entertaining and informative, we are treated to a few extended/deleted scenes which are rather entertaining, a behind the scenes feature with Will Ferrell which is extensive and above the usual press kit standard. Rounding off the extras are games, DVD content and a feature on the music from the movie.

    Verdict

Seasonal fun without the usual schmaltz and full of belly laughs, the DVD presentation is also very good. Recommended.
