    Deathwatch DVD Review
    SRP: £17.99

The image appears to be just between 2.35:1 and 2.40:1 ratios and is anamorphically enhanced. The overall image is very good with the muted colour palette looking natural and the print contains a certain amount of fine detail. There are signs of Edge enhancement and some pixilation issues during certain darkly light scenes, but overall the image stands up well with only the slightest amount of grain present.

The Dolby Digital 5.1 soundmix is effective and enveloping building a nice soundfield. There is a slight lack of dynamics and a smudging of distortion during some dialogue scenes, but overall the soundtrack works very well with the subject matter. However the electronic score lets the side down somewhat.

I think it's clear that the director used to make Press kit material as the extras are very well produced indeed. Included are three commentary tracks, an interesting featurette, deleted and alternate scenes, interviews, behind the scenes footage and Trailers (which include Human Nature, Evelyn, Bulletproof Monk, Resident Evil and Dog Soldiers all in 5.1). The extras add a great deal to the overall package and shed some very interesting facts about the production.

Deathwatch is an adequate Horror movie with an original concept; the audio visual presentation is good with some interesting extras.
