Here’s a nice little fillip for prospective, or existing, Xbox One owners, YouTube has just announced it is inbound – virtually unannounced.
It’s not clear if we’ll see it immediately added to the list of UK launch apps but it’s already confirmed for launched in the USA and it’s definitely another feather in the cap for the One, extending the (small) app advantage it already holds over the PS4.
The interface is fairly familiar from the 360 version and it will, of course, permit you to hook up with your favourites, watch in Full HD, check on your subscriptions and see what’s trending.

Another app advantage over PS4
What’s more, the experience has been ‘Kinectified’ with voice controls for commands such as play, fast forward and pause and there’s even a spot of gesture control, allowing you to grab the screen, scroll through and choose videos, whilst using nothing but your hands. So, just like we hoped and good see YouTube utilising the powers of Kinect.
Kinectified!
