Yamaha updates 2016 AVENTAGE models with DTS:X
Yamaha UK have today announced the firmware update of all 2016 AVENTAGE products.
Rolling out worldwide from the 31st of March is a free over-the-air internet delivered firmware update for selected 2016 AVENTAGE AV Receivers to add DTS:X object-based audio decoding to these models. You can also download the file from the Yamaha website and update the firmware via a USB stick if you prefer.

The Yamaha RX-A1050, RX-A2050, RX-A3050 AV Receivers and CX-A5100 AV Processor will all get the upgrade from today for DTS:X with the unique YSP-5600 soundbar receiving an update in the very near future.

The update is only available for the models listed above as none of the 2015 or earlier models are capable of delivering the format and only the 2016 models were sold with the promise of an update when the new firmware was available.
