The Xbox One Twitch streaming feature is set to launch alongside Titanfall on Match 11th.
It will be rolled out as part of a system-wide software update which also promises improved integration of friends lists and the return of Party chat switched on as a default option.

We are also hoping the system update will fix the Xbox One's, much touted, TV integration for PAL territories, after it became apparent that 60Hz and 50Hz just don’t fit together well.

Twitch co-founder and CEO Emmett Shear told ABC News: "It's exciting because we've never had the ability to broadcast from a console like this with such a deep level of integration.

"The concept of being able to join a broadcasters' party is really cool, and it's another step in the direction of interacting more closely with broadcasters."

The Twich app will also support chat functions and will make the integration of Kinect, as standard, seem a much more viable proposition as it will allow gamers to broadcast both themselves and their gaming exploits via its built-in camera.

Comparing the Twitch apps built in to PS4 and Xbox One, Medhi understandably came out in favour of Microsoft’s console being as the PlayStation version doesn’t allow for direct interaction. Of course, the fact that the PS4 doesn’t come with a camera, as standard, will also mean it will be used more extensively amongst the XB1’s userbase.

"This will open up the social aspect of Xbox One in a new way," he said.

"The community of Twitch is huge, and this allows us to type into that, and frankly do something that's never been done before on consoles. You'll be able to broadcast to any device and consume anyone's broadcast from any device. It's a console experience unique to the Xbox One."

This news also comes as Microsoft officially reduced the UK price of the Xbox One to £399 and announced a Titanfall bundle, including a Xbox LIVE Gold subscription and a copy of the game for the same price. Gamestop currently has the bundle up for pre-order at £369.97, which is sounding a very tempting price right now!

It’s a marathon and not a sprint – the next-gen race, that is.
