Warner Bros have put their backing behind the new Ultra HD Blu-ray format with the confirmation of 35 releases from the studio in 2016.
The first four titles have been confirmed as Mad Max: Fury Road, San Andreas, The LEGO Movie and Pan with Man Of Steel and Pacific Rim amongst the movies to make the resolution leap by the end of the year.
We’re still awaiting details on what is certain to be a raft of UHD Blu-ray player announcements, from all the major manufacturers, who will surely all follow Samsung’s lead from late 2015.
We have to say it’s certainly a better initial line-up than Sony announced, although that’s not really saying much but what we really want to know are some pricing details. All we have heard, so far, is that disc pricing will be ‘affordable,’ and that’s hardly a definitive guide!
