Virgin Media adds more free Sky channels

Virgin Media has added even more of Sky’s most popular channels to its TV service for free until 9th May to keep viewers armed with plenty of content during the ongoing lockdown.

A mere three days after announcing that 18 of Sky’s channels would be available at no extra cost to its TV subscribers, Virgin Media has upped the ante by adding a further 11 channels under the same auspices.

The latest additions will become available from Good Friday (10th April) and include some of Sky’s most popular channels. The full list of new additions is Sky One, SkyTwo, Sky Arts, Sky Comedy, Sky Crime, Sky Witness, Sky Sports Mix, Sky Sports News, Movies 2, Syfy and E! Viewers don’t need to do anything and there will be no change to their contract.

For viewers who found the previous temporary channel additions a little too focussed on kids, music and Reality TV, the latest batch will provide some of the more meaty programmes Sky has to offer including  Hitmen, Bulletproof 2 (Sky One), Ballers, Curb your Enthusiasm (Sky Comedy), The Rookie and Grey’s Anatomy (Sky Witness).

For added flexibility, many of Sky’s shows are available On Demand, so customers can pick and choose what they watch.

Virgin Media’s continued efforts to provide a locked down UK public with plenty of viewing options at no additional charge is to be applauded and they have also looked to improve other services to its customers to ease the burden of the current restrictive conditions.

These include giving 2.7 million of its monthly mobile customers an additional 10GB data and unlimited minutes at no extra cost to help them stay connected with friends, family and authorities during self isolation. In addition, the company’s legacy broadband has had its data cap permanently removed so everyone can easily access sites with vital information such as the NHS.

If you’re a Virgin Media TV customer please feel free to drop into the discussion thread and let others know what difference the temporary channels are making to your lockdown experience.
