UKTV, the British multi-channel broadcaster, owned by BBC Studios and Discovery Inc, now have their on demand app available on Apple TV.
The service is also now part of the newly updated Apple TV app, so users can take advantage of their usual search and discovery tools, including voice assistant Siri, in order to find and play their favourite, or newly discovered, shows across their iPhone, iPad and Apple TV hardware.

One of the UK’s largest TV companies, UKTV launched their UKTV Play video on demand service in Aug 2014 and it offers catch up programming from popular UKTV channels including Dave, Yesterday, Really and Drama. Current content includes the latest series of the BAFTA nominated Taskmaster, which is a UKTV original and was the most watched programme on the service last year. In addition to that, there is another original series from UKTV, Judge Romesh and new comedy, Sliced.

The UKTV Play service is already available on Freeview Play, Roku, Now TV and many Samsung TV models and Apple TV now joins these platforms in hosting the service.

UKTV Play’s general manager, Tom Davidson said: “Customers have been asking us to bring UKTV Play to Apple TV so I’m thrilled that they can now enjoy the seamless and brilliant viewing experience that the platform delivers.

He went on to say, “With thousands of hours of TV, exclusive previews and box-sets on offer, there’s truly something for everyone on UKTV Play, and by bringing it to the popular Apple TV platform, our extensive supply of entertaining TV is now even more accessible."
