CES 2018 News: Sony HT-SF2000 2.1 Compact Soundbar announced
Sony’s new 2.1 channel compact soundbar HT-SF200 might not have the object based audio capabilities of the just announced, HT-ZF9 but Sony still reckons it will give you that cinematic sound feeling from the comfort of your own sofa, and will look good too - as it’s designed to complement any piece of furniture it’s placed on
The slim, stylish soundbar has a built-in subwoofer and supports the Dolby Digital codec to produce what Sony describes as ‘unparalleled sound for your living room,’ although that might be a bit of a stretch! Despite its compact size, the inclusion of S-Force PRO Front Surround creates the effect of being surrounded by speakers - without wires trailing around the room.

Keeping the area clean and tidy, the SF200 features simple connectivity to your TV via HDMI ARC, Optical or Bluetooth – if your TV supports it. It can also wirelessly connect to other smart devices by Bluetooth technology. Alternatively, for those moments when you want to quickly connect and instantly play a song, the SF200 has the handy feature of a USB input which allows you to connect a USB device for easy playback.

This is an all-in-one solution is described as perfect for smaller living spaces, it will easily fit on shelves or a console table, placed either in front of or beside the TV. The materials used, such as the leather-look top and composite sides, have been put together to blend in seamlessly and match your style – assuming leather look and composite is your thing, of course.

The HT-SF200 will be available from Spring 2018.
