Sony confirms over 6 million sales for PlayStation 4
Following its launch in Japan on February 22, the PlayStation 4 has sold through 6 million units, worldwide, according to a statement from Sony.
The Japanese launch has, expectedly, been as successful as that in other territories, seeing the console shift 370,000 units in just 8 days.

PS4 software sales also remain strong with more than 13.7 million units sold through stores and via downloads from the PlayStation Store as of March 2.

The Japanese market has been going gaga for Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends Complete Edition Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn and Ryu-ga-gotoku Ishin, according to the press release.

Sony also says that over half of the PS4’s user base are signed up to PlayStation Plus – and you’d be crazy not to – giving them access to cloud game saves and the "Instant Game Collection," which allows you to play full games, at no extra cost, provided the subscription is maintained.
