The Canadian high-end audio specialist Simaudio is taking its first steps into the loudspeaker market, with the launch of the Moon Voice 22.
The Voice 22 falls under the Moon branch of Simaudio’s operations, and marks the beginning of a new product line within the company. According to the announcement, the speaker stems from more than 40 years of audio design experience and by using “premium materials and industry-leading technologies, for the very first time they give the Moon name its own voice.” Needless to say, all involved are keen to highlight how the Voice 22 speakers would pair very nicely with a Moon amplifier, “with a precise clarity that will delight any music lover.”
The Voice 22 uses an integrated ‘Hover Base’ designed to reduce vibration as well provide stability even before it's placed on its bespoke stand. Inside is a 22mm soft dome tweeter with waveguide and a 155mm woofer using a mineral-filled polypropylene cone. We’re also told that the “class-leading drivers feature sleek baffles and beautifully machined bezels for a graceful appearance.” Along with a natural signature Moon sound, the speaker promises to deliver a wide soundstage “with space to allow every small detail to flourish and for the deep, clean bass to expand.”
Speaking further on the launch, Dominique Poupart, product manager for Moon, said: “We are thrilled that one can now own a complete Moon system, one that wouldn’t depend on other manufacturer’s loudspeakers. As with our other products, we created our own designs and technologies, aiming for transparency and realist, and to preserve the scale and dynamics or real-life musical instruments.”
The Moon Voice 22 loudspeaker is available now, priced at £2,650 (€3,000 / $3,000) with a high gloss black or white finish with a matching cloth-covered grille. An optional stainless steel stand, with a choice of spikes or rubber feet, is also available priced at £495 (€480 / $400).
