Sim2 announce the AR-1 and SuperCube projectors
Sim2 have announced two new projectors, including the luxury AR-1 which is named after the late Alan Roser.
The AR-1 is not just the latest Full HD three-chip DLP model in Sim2's prestigious line-up of hand-crafted Italian projectors, but a technological statement that is the result of years of experience spanning the C3X and LUMIS lines to the one-of-a-kind hand-built FUORISERIE, plus all the latest updates that Texas Instruments DLP brings to its Academy Award-Winning Technology.

There's more to projection than just resolution and in the AR-1, SIM2 has adopted custom-built Fujinon large aperture glass lenses specifically designed for this unit. These precision optical components guarantee exceptional on-screen clarity. Additionally, a custom-designed color notch filter which, when combined with the advanced on-board video processing, will dramatically widen the color gamut of this projector and allows the AR-1 to cover all the color space requirements of a modern projector from Rec 709 to DCI-P3.

This projector has been designed to meet or exceed all the high-demand requirements of medium to large high-end home cinema installations. At roughly a third of the size of other high-end models - just 18” x 18” x 9” - the AR-1 delivers up to 5,500 ANSI lumens from its high power lamp. The calibration capabilities of AR-1 are designed with the expert calibrator in mind, its color palette is wider than a conventional projector and can be precisely tuned to the customer’s individual screen and room characteristics - a specialist probe supplied with the projector preserves the quality of the calibrated image over its lifetime.

In a touching gesture, Sim2 have named the AR-1 after Alan Roser, who probably did more than anyone to promote both projection technology and Sim2 in the UK, with his demonstrations at the Bristol Sound and Vision Show often proving a highlight. As Alan himself would frequently say at a demo of the latest high-end Sim2 installation - "you'll probably need a mortgage to buy one" - but we can't think of a more fitting tribute to him than the AR-1.
In addition Sim2 have also announced the SuperCube DLP projector. This compact (12” x 12”) projector is crystal glass clad and powerful enough to light up the largest screen, bringing SIM2-quality images to the center of your visual entertainment world. Academy award-winning DLP picture technology is at the heart of the design, ensuring that the SuperCube is able to deliver the look and feel of a movie just as the director intended. Sophisticated video processing electronics ensure that all your video sources are reproduced at their best. Super-clean lines in crystal glass lend an attractiveness not usually associated with projectors and the SuperCube comes in a choice of colours - black, white, glacier gray, blue and orange.
