Since vacating the Governor's Mansion, it's fair to say that Arnold Schwarzenegger's comeback has been less than stellar.
If the trailers for Terminator: Genisys are anything to go by, it doesn't look as though that trend will be changing soon. However there is hope for one of Schwarzenegger's upcoming movies - a little zombie film called Maggie. The film has just had its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival and early word is that Schwarzenegger gives the best performance of his career. We certainly can't remember the last time that Arnold gave a real acting performance but you'd probably have to go back to the millennial thriller End of Days in 1999 to find one.
In Maggie Scwarzennegger plays a loving father in the Midwest who stays by his daughter's side as she is infected during an outbreak of a disease that slowly turns her into a cannibalistic zombie. The film is the directorial debut of British director Henry Hobson and stars Abigail Breslin (Little Miss Sunshine) as the daughter, along with Joely Richardson (The Patriot) in a supporting role. The film will be released by Vertigo Films, who said "We are proud to be releasing this extraordinary film in the UK. It's a career-defining performance by Arnold Schwarzenegger and an amazingly assured skilful directorial debut by Henry Hobson."
Maggie opens in the UK on the 17th of July.
