Samsung Smart Start offer grants access to premium TV apps

Be smart from the start

by Andy Bassett

For a limited period, UK purchasers of a Samsung smart TV from the company’s 2020/2021 range will be offered a range of premium entertainment exclusives worth over £200.

Samsung has introduced its Smart Start initiative for UK consumers which runs from now until 6th January 2022. This gives TV shoppers up to 5 months to take advantage of offers to try out a variety of premium apps and entertainment when they purchase any product from the company’s 2020 and 2021 TV ranges.

Users will need to open the preinstalled Samsung Promotion app on their new TV and log in to their Samsung Account to unlock the app subscriptions and unique voucher code for each exclusive offer.

The launch offers from Samsung’s partners includes:

Rakuten TV: five free UHD movie rentals

Britbox: 3-month pass to the best British films and television on the streaming service.

YouTube Premium: 3-months ad-free viewing at home on your TV with downloadable content to mobile devices.

Tidal: 4-months free Tidal HiFi tier subscription for access to 70+ million songs, ad-free and with lossless audio.

Fiit: 3-months free access to over 700+ on-demand workouts

Samsung’s promotion is designed to give new TV purchasers information about offers and new services to use on their new TV after feedback indicated a majority of users wanted further details after purchase. As well as exposure to new apps, participating consumers will be able to experience  content in a way they may not have before, from watching movies in 4K HDR10+ to listening to music in Dolby Atmos sound quality.

Smart Start will evolve over the coming months with new offers and services from content partners being added to give customers the option of further exploring the app options available on their new Smart TV.

Samsung Electronics UK Head of TV/AV Retail & Content Services, Deep Halder commented, “... this is a great opportunity for our content partners to tap into the largest Smart TV platform and allow our user base to experience their services risk-free. In an increasingly crowded market of streaming services, we hope Smart Start will allow our partners to stand out and showcase their services in a way that is integrated with how our customers start their Smart TV journey.

If you’ve recently purchased a new Samsung TV and take advantage of Smart Start, come back and leave a comment in the forums to let others know what your experience was like, along with any app recommendations.
