Samsung’s long promised 110-inch Micro LED TV arrives on UK shores and takes up residency at London’s most appropriate purveyor of luxury goods, Harrods Department Store.
As restrictions lift around the UK, now could be a good time to make your way to Harrods for a socially distanced opportunity to experience Samsung’s 110-inch flagship Micro LED TV in all its glory.
Now available for EPL footballers, Bitcoin investors and lottery winners to pre-order, it’s a chance to experience the possible future of TV technology in the flesh as it follows in the footsteps of The Wall, which remains on display at the prestigious store.
Micro LED's self emissive display technology delivers lifelike colours and high brightness from the screen’s 4K resolution and 8 million pixels for a next level picture quality. Lucky owners will be entertained like never before by the innovative engineering, immersive design and embedded Majestic Sound System which produces immersive 5.1 channel sound with no external speaker.
Mark Seaman, Senior Director, Premium Retail, Samsung Electronics (UK) Ltd said, “For the initial launch Harrods was a natural choice, with The Wall already on display in-store. The 110” MICRO LED offers the very best premium home entertainment experience, so to partner with one of the most premium retailers in the world, makes perfect sense.”
Meanwhile, Annalise Fard, director of home and technology at Harrods, added, “The arrival of the MICRO LED screen is the latest addition to our already impressive Samsung collection at Harrods, following 2019’s Samsung store launch at Harrods, and the arrival of The Wall Luxe. We know the MICRO-LED screen will be a must-see for Harrods tech lovers and film and T.V. buffs alike.”
The launch of the 110-inch Micro LED TV marks Samsung’s next step on the journey for the technology following on from the introduction of The Wall in 2018. Micro LED is seen by the company as being at the forefront of the premium at-home entertainment market and this is a small step towards the kind of consumer level models that might one day be available for everyday purchase.
In the meantime, Samsung looks like it will still be using established TV technologies as it introduces its Neo QLED TVs which feature Quantum Mini LED display technology. There are also rumours that the company has drawn up a deal with LG Display for millions of OLED panels over the next few years which may find their way into Samsung's next generation QD-OLED TVs in the next few years.
However, from today, the Samsung 110-inch Micro LED TV will be available to see and pre-order at Harrods.
