    Samsung Pay & Security

Samsung also announced Samsung Pay – yes, it’s very much like Apple’s system – but they say it will be compatible with more locations than any ‘competing offering’ in a single application and it will launch on Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge in the United States during the second half of this year. Protected by Samsung KNOX, fingerprint scanning, and advanced tokenisation, Samsung Pay works with both NFC (Near Field Communication) and MST (Magnetic Secure Transmission) technology to make it device, merchant and card issuer agnostic.

The Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge are built on the upgraded Samsung KNOX, end-to-end secure mobile platform, offering features for real-time protection from potential malicious attacks. Both of these new devices are also ready for immediate enterprise adoption, with market leading MDMs and KNOX enhancements enabled at launch to simplify and improve mobile device

management. Additionally, the Find My Mobile feature secures lost devices and protects personal information through a number of services, including the all-new remotely controlled “Reactivation Lock.” With an enhanced touch-type fingerprint scanner, it also provides quick authentication and saves encrypted data in secure device storage.

The Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge will be available globally starting from 10th April, 2015 with 32/64/128GB storage options available in White Pearl, Black Sapphire, Gold Platinum, Blue Topaz (Galaxy S6 only) and Green Emerald (Galaxy S6 edge only).

Gear VR Innovator Edition for Galaxy S6 and S6 edge

Samsung also revealed their latest Virtual Reality (VR) plans at MWC, with its latest Samsung Gear VR Innovator Edition. It is fully optimised and compatible with Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 edge and powered by Oculus, gives more users the opportunity to enjoy Samsung’s unrivalled, fully-immersive and cinematic virtual reality experience, with improved viewing as well as a more comfortable design.

The Gear VR Innovator Edition lets users engage with high-resolution movies, TV shows, VOD services and photos with reduced pixilation and a wide field-of-view. The 15% reduction in size makes Samsung Gear VR obviously make it more comfortable to wear and that’s furthered by the redesigned straps which give better weight balance

Computing power has been increased and therefore graphics quality is increased and the the Gear VR can now be powered with its USB port for extended usage time. Gear VR content is available for download via the Oculus Store. Users have an extensive selection of optimised, localised virtual reality content from top-tier creators including thrilling VR games and 360 degree including a new performance from Cirque du Soleil, Kurios.

    Wireless Charging

Samsung has teamed up with IKEA of to usher in a new era of connectivity, expanding charging capabilities beyond fixed outlets in homes or work environments through their involvement with the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC). With the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 edge– featuring the world’s first, universally compatible embedded wireless charging technology –and IKEA’s new home furniture range has wireless charging technology built directly in.

And we think the wireless charging is potentially the best thing that Samsung had to show - how about you?
