Dapper music stylings for any room.

SRP: £629.00

The R3, Ruark’s latest compact all-in-one music system unsurprisingly slots in between the R2 and R4 and brings style and versatility to the company’s ‘human-first’ design approach to its technology.

Designed to fit in modern homes where space in kitchens, bedrooms and studies is at a premium, and with modern lifestyles where convenience helps mitigate time constraints, the R3 all-in-one delivers high fidelity two channel music with performance and style.

Based around a high quality Class A-B amplifier with a nominal 30W output, the R3 features proprietary algorithms and the latest digital sound processing to enhance details and deliver a realistic sound stage beyond what would be expected from the device's footprint, which measures a compact 167 x 420 x 220mm (HxWxD) and 5.3kg.

The cabinet itself has been hand-crafted and designed to support the NS+ loudspeaker units in delivering a performance akin to a larger system with separate speakers. The full range drivers consist of a powerful neodymium magnet system and lightweight cone assembly in a low-reflection, air-flowed chassis.

Having great delivery of music is one thing but first you’ve got to get the music to the device in the first place and here the R3 has plenty of options.

First up, for listeners with an old school hard copy library, is the multi format CD player which sits just below the front-facing high-contrast OLED display. Of course, for many music fans, having access to digital streaming sources will be one of the top priorities and the R3 can stream songs from music services such as Spotify Connect, TIDAL, Amazon Music and Deezer over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth aptX.

In addition, users can access the Smart Radio functionality to tune into internet, DAB/DAB+ or FM stations for music, news and podcasts. The R3 can also expand into existing TV and Smart home setups using switchable analogue and digital inputs, so devices such as a TV, Alexa Echo Dot or Google Home Mini can be easily connected. Other ports include a USB-C playback charge slot and there’s an Ethernet socket for hardwiring into your LAN.

The housing is covered in a combination of high quality and tactile materials, comes in either a rich walnut veneer or soft grey lacquer and features the trademark RotoDial controller on top.

The R3 comes with an infrared remote control and will be available from August 2020 at select dealers, including John Lewis, at a price of £629.00.
