    Roth VA4 Active Speakers Announced
Roth has announced the VA4 Active Speaker System, billed as an ‘ideal replacement’ for a bulky Hi-Fi separates system.
The active pair offer a wide-range of connectivity options, including a switchable phono/analogue RCA input for turntable users. For those requiring contemporary connectivity, Bluetooth aptX wireless and optical digital inputs provide the versatility.

The Roth Audio VA4 Active Speaker System is designed to be simple to use with no need for a phono pre-amp or separate amplifier. Users just plug in their turntables, select ‘Phono’ via the back-panel switch and play. For line-level sources, such as a CD player, the same connection is used, with the switch set to ‘Line’. Alternatively, the Optical digital input or the 3.5mm stereo input can be used. The Bluetooth connection supports aptX streaming for the best possible results.

Each speaker is equipped with 4-inch woofers and 1-inch tweeters and are claimed to possess a 60 Hz - 20 kHz frequency response for defined treble and deep bass. The amplification, built-in to the pair claims 2 x 40W RMS output but you can beef up the bass using a dedicated sub with the ‘Sub Out’ connection.

The package also includes a remote control that offers source-selection, volume up and down, tone adjustment and standby mode. Bluetooth devices can also be controlled - play/pause, previous, next and pairing. Completing the feature set, a USB charging socket is also provided, allowing users to charge their devices as they stream.

The black-ash cabinets are complimented with a choice of baffle colours – gloss red, gloss white and gloss black. All finishes come with detachable black cloth grilles.

The VA4 will be available later in November 2016, priced at £199.00. More info over at the Roth product page:
