  • Do you really know your TV Technology?
Are you ready to judge the finer details dividing two of the best TV technologies currently available?

Then we’d like to invite you to join Philips for a TV technology shoot-out.

We are offering the chance for 25 AVForums readers to join us at the world famous British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) in London’s Piccadilly to help decide which tech provides the out and out, absolute best TV picture experience.

Plus one lucky attendee will be picked to take home the TV voted the best on the evening!

The event will be held on Thursday August 3rd 18:30 at BAFTA 195 Piccadilly London W1

OLED v QLED – just how good? And is one better than the other?

Philips are ideally placed to help find the answer as the company will become the only brand to have a range offering both technologies with a new series of products to be launched at the Berlin IFA Show in September.

And the man responsible for getting the best out of both technologies is Philips PQ Guru Danny Tack who will be on hand to answer any questions you have about TV tech and where it’s heading.

Danny will also be running the OLED V QLED ‘shootout’ with a series of demos and Blu-ray movie clips - first shown blind and then repeated with the identity of the sets revealed.

You’ll also get the chance to meet the team behind AVForums who’ll be on hand to video the session and to make sure everything is carried out on a level playing field.
You will also be one of the very first people to see the stunning new Philips 9002 OLED TV in action.

We’ll be showing you reference clips and Blu-ray movie scenes as we put two TV technologies through their paces.

You’ll also be able to meet the AVForums team who will be on-hand to video the day and to ensure that the test is conducted in a fair manner by calibrating both TVs correctly.

To apply for one of the very limited spaces please send an email to [email protected] with the subject line: Philips TV and BAFTA. The closing date is Friday 28th July and you will be sent a reply to say we received your entry.

And please include a bit of information about you:

    • What AV system do you have at home
    • What is your reference Blu-ray movie
    • What do you mostly use your TV for? Just watching TV? Watching movies? Watching sport? Playing Games?
    • What is your home location – area rather than exact address?
    • Why would you like you join the TV Tech shoot-out?

Places are strictly limited so remember to get your email in ASAP!
