Pro-Ject announces Guns N' Roses Record Player
Following on from their Beatles and Rolling Stones releases, Pro-Ject Audio Systems announce a new turntable, designed in partnership with Guns N' Roses.
The Austrian company’s Artist Series sees them collaborating with world renowned artists to created special edition turntables. Following on from The Beatles and The Rolling Stones, it’s now the turn of ‘the most dangerous band in the world,’ Guns N’ Roses.

The GNR Record Player itself is based on the Essential III A turntable and uses high quality audiophile components throughout – including the Ortofon OM 10 elliptical cartridge, the stable belt drive system which uses a diamond-cut aluminium pulley, and the 8.6inch aluminium tonearm. Finished with a clear dust cover and terminated with high-quality Connect-IT E RCA cables, the turntable is immediately ready to connect to any Hi-Fi system with a phono stage connection.

Using GNR’s distinctive logo, Pro-Ject have taken the unique approach of printing it directly onto the Acryl-IT E platter so the artwork fills the entire 12” surface. The end result is a striking contrast between the yellow design and the gloss black MDF plinth, which itself features a small logo underneath the tonearm’s rest position.

Guns N’ Roses firmly represent old school rock ‘n’ roll with their all-guns-firing approach to music, and the classic lineup of Axl, Slash, Duff, Izzy ….. and Steve, was responsible for the legendary Appetite For Destruction album released in 1987. This pre-Protools release encapsulated the analogue approach to recording whereby producer Mike Clink performed all the edits with his tried and trusted razor blade.

Partnering one of rock music’s most influential bands with Pro-Ject is a synergistic hook-up but given the band’s fearsome reputation don’t be surprised if you return home one day to find the turntable has thrown a party, smashed all your non-GNR records and stuffed the cat in the bin.
