Philips launch 2015 Soundbar and Soundstage Range in UK
MSRP: £599.99
Philips has unveiled four new sound bars and two soundstage models in the company’s 2015 home cinema range.
Star products include the Fidelio B5, featuring the latest incarnation of Philips unique Surround-on-demand technology and the XS-1, the first high-end Fidelio soundstage complete with wireless subwoofer.

Fidelio B5

The Fidelio B5 is the successor model to the impressive Fidelio HTL9100 and continues as Philips’ smartest and most versatile soundbar.

As with the Fidelio HTL9100, the Fidelio B5 offers the choice of working as a single bar or as a real surround system thanks to two detachable, battery powered speakers which can be placed behind the listener - switching to 5.1 audio automatically - and thanks to the new advanced calibration algorithm the Fidelio B5 offers a better balanced surround performance regardless of where the speakers are placed in the room.

Also new to the Fidelio B5 is the integration of Bluetooth into each part of the soundbar - including the main bar and independently in each of the two detachable speakers which can be placed anywhere in the home with a battery life of up to 5 hours for music playback - up to 10 hours in movie mode - with just one full charge.

The main bar also includes Bluetooth apt-X and AAC for high-fidelity streaming, as well as NFC for easy and intuitive pairing. The Philips Fidelio B5 is now on sale in the UK for SRP £599.99.

Fidelio XS1

The first soundstage in the Fidelio range, the XS1 is ultra slim and features an elegant, high quality construction including a glass top. As a 3.1 channel system, with front and side firing drivers coupled with a super-slim wireless subwoofer, the soundstage promises to fill the room. It has two dedicated centre-channel speakers for better voice clarity. It is also able to decode Dolby Digital and DTS Surround. The ultra-slim wireless subwoofer can be placed vertically or laid on its side for convenience and features two woofers and double bass ports.
At only 41mm/1.6in in height, the soundstage fits discretely under the television and can hold a TV up to 65” in size. The design is completed with a cool, black metal grill wrap along the front and sides, whilst Bluetooth (aptX & AAC) connectivity enables high quality wireless music streaming. The Philips Fidelio XS1 is on sale now in the UK with SRP £399.99.

Philips HTL7140

Whilst the HTL7140 is incredibly slim, it is a true 5.1 channel soundbar housing six midrange drivers and two tweeters and a dedicated centre-channel. Thosse are coupled with Philips proprietary Ambisound processing technology to create a sound stage that is projected far beyond its own length. The soundbar comes in a tapering design with a modern, black grill that wraps around both ends of the bar and an aluminium top plate to enhance the premium finish. A wireless subwoofer with 8” driver, and high quality aptX Bluetooth wireless streaming completes the feature set. The Philips HTL7140 soundbar is now on sale in the UK with SRP £449.99.

Philips HTL6140

The HTL6140 is the slimmest Philips soundbar to date but despite its svelte design packs an array of six two-inch woofers, two premium soft dome tweeters and a wireless subwoofer. Featuring Dolby Digital virtual surround, DTS surround, Bluetooth (aptX and AAC) and NFC technologies, the HTL6140 is now available in the UK with SRP £299.99.

Philips HTL5145

The popular Philips HTL5140 has been updated and now features a new slimmer, yet more powerful subwoofer. The subwoofer includes two 6.5” drivers and double bass ports and can be easily placed anywhere in the living space – even under a sofa. The Philips HTL5145 soundbar and slim subwoofer are now available in the UK with SRP £279.99.

Philips HTL5130

In addition to the WaveFlector technology, the HTL5130 also has a dedicated centre channel speaker for superior voice clarity, an inbuilt subwoofer, HDMI input, plus Bluetooth connectivity. Both HDMI and Bluetooth connectivity are included. The HTL5130 soundstage is now available in the UK with SRP £229.99
