Philips announces Fidelio T1 TWS earphones

Philips has introduced the T1, its first foray into the true wireless premium headphone segment, bringing together the Fidelio brand hallmarks of audio quality, design excellence and an intuitive user experience.

The Philips Fidelio T1 adopts a lozenge style design and each bud incorporates a dual driver implementation which combines a large 10mm dynamic driver for the mid and low frequencies along with a small and efficient balanced armature which handles the high frequency range. The resulting sound fits the Fidelio ‘sonic signature’ of accurate bass, natural midrange and detailed highs.

Bluetooth 5.2 technology gives reliable wireless connectivity and reception, with the LDAC codec offering support for Hi-Res audio.

There’s Advanced Hybrid Noise Cancelling Pro+ which uses two mics in each bud for the optimum level of noise cancelling when combined with the passive noise isolation provided by the secure fit. Six different sizes of silicon ear-tips and three sizes of Comply foam tips ensure the best possible fit and long-term comfort.

An additional mic in each bud is used for call communication and adaptive wind reduction technology constantly adjusts for noise interference by ‘unfriendly’ weather conditions, delivering clear voice calls. Wind reduction can be toggled on or off in the Philips Headphones App which also allows fine sound tuning and access to ANC pre-set modes.

Google Fast Pair, makes it easy to automatically find and pair with Android devices. The T1 is also easy-to-use thanks to convenient, capacitive touch controls whereby a simple tap will play, skip and pause tracks. Alternatively, a Push-to-talk facility allows hands-free, voice assistance via Google Assistant.

Battery life comes in at around 9 hours of continuous playback with ANC activated, and a further 25 hours playback is available via the charging case, which features fast charge and wireless charging for additional convenience. Battery life increases to 13 hours and 35 hours extra case-based playback if ANC is deactivated. A full charge takes two hours while one hour of extra playback is available after just 15 minutes of charging.

An IR wear sensor detects when the ear buds are in-place and can pause the music when one is removed, while a role switch allows either bud to be used on their own in mono.

The buds are also splash proof with a rating of IPX4 meaning outdoor use is a cinch.

The brushed metal T1 comes in either black or silver with the respective charging cases featuring either a black or tan Muirhead leather insert.

Currently undergoing a final tuning process, the Fidelio T1 is expected towards the end of the year.
