After bringing Tidal Connect to its Uniti players and dedicated streamers, Naim Audio has now rolled out the feature to include its Mu-so family of wireless speakers.
Respected British Hi-Fi outfit, Naim Audio is introducing yet more listening options for its award-winning Mu-so 2nd Generation family of wireless speakers, with a free software update enabling TIDAL Connect.
The Firmware 4.3 update for Mu-so 2nd Generation, Mu-so Qb 2nd Generation, Mu-so Wood Edition and Mu-so for Bentley Special Edition is available on 9th December and is a quick and easy to install via the Naim App.
It follows a similar, earlier update for Naim Uniti players and dedicated streamers meaning the brand's entire current range now supports Tidal Connect. Moreover, further free functionality upgrades are planned across the entire Naim music-streaming family, giving users even more ways to enjoy their system. This follows updates which added Qobuz compatibility to the Mu-so 2nd Generation speakers in June 2020.
TIDAL Connect presents a similar casting approach introduced by Spotify Connect on its speakers (and then more widely) and allows the native Tidal App with its rich features to be the controller for all the connected devices and stream music choices in high quality direct to Naim speakers. Users can continue to enjoy core TIDAL streaming functionality via the Naim App if they prefer.
More widely, as well as Naim, Tidal Connect is supported by Bluesound, Cambridge Audio, DALI, KEF, iFi Audio, Lyngdorf, Monitor and NAD which means products from these companies which carry the feature can all link together. Moreover, Tidal Connect supports the Tidal streaming service’s CD quality playback as well as the Hi-Res Master tracks and Dolby Atmos Music tracks it carries in the Hi-Fi tier catalogue.
TIDAL Connect is available to all subscribers to the streaming service; a 90-day free trial is available for new users when they buy any of the current Naim streaming family.
