For those working with high performance distributed audio systems, NAD’s latest announcement brings 16-channels, reliability, stability and installer-friendly features.
NAD Electronics is renowned for its award-winning line of high-quality components for audio, home theatre and custom installation applications and the CI 16-60 DSP is an all-new advanced amplifier with a range of unique features.
Particularly well suited for the demands of professional installations, the CI 16-60 DSP is versatile and robust, delivering a conservative 60 watts per channel at 8 ohms into all of its 16 channels. Moreover, if you need more power, each pair of channels is bridgeable to 140 watts per channel.
Housed in a 2U rack, power is stable and efficient with high current thanks to its hybrid digital amplifier platform. A customised version of the Hypex UcD output stage is used to deliver great load invariant power with extremely low distortion or audible noise. In fact, each element of the design has been carefully executed to bring out the best possible performance.
In keeping with its designation as the heart of a custom install, the CI 16-60 can handle long cable runs and challenging speaker loads.
The CI 16-60 DSP is an IP-controlled amplifier which allows configuration and calibration via a web-based user interface. This interface enables detailed equalisation control via multi-channel digital signal processing (DSP) and a virtual patch bay permits any input to be routed to any single or multiple outputs without the need to create physical connections. Feedback on operating parameters such as temperature and power status, as well as basic troubleshooting functions like power cycling, factory resetting and updating, is also provided by the interface.
In addition, loop through jacks on all the inputs make it easy to daisy chain sources to multiple amplifiers for larger installations.
Joe de Jesus, Lenbrook’s Product Manager for CI commented, “NAD’s CI 16-60 DSP amplifier joins the CI 8-120 DSP and CI 8-150 DSP distribution amplifiers highlighting one of the brand’s strongest features which of course is our amplifier platforms.
“The brand has a reputation for rock-solid amplification and a tonal balance that seems to shake hands with virtually any speaker it powers. Our clients can expect the same exacting standard. Quite simply, that sonic signature and rock-solid reliability is what separates NAD from the rest.”
The CI 16-60 DSP has an MSRP of £1999 / €2749 / $2499 and will be available in mid-February.
