Master & Dynamic introduces MW07 Go and MW07 Plus wireless earphones

Well regarded by the creative community, New York audio accessory company Master and Dynamic has introduced the latest earphones from its MW07 family of products, the MW07 Go and MW07 Plus.

When the first version of the MW07 wire free earphones was released 12 months ago, it was well received but there were concerns about its relatively paltry battery life and underperforming Bluetooth. Now, with the latest iteration, available in two distinct models, the issues have been corrected and the good points improved upon too.

The more expensive MW07 Plus now features an improved 10 hour battery life (up from the previous 3.5 hours) and, with three re-charges available from the aluminium charging case, the total ramps up to an impressive 40 hours total battery life. On top of that, the company reckons a 15 minute charge - the time it takes to have a cuppa - should get you back to 50 percent. If you do need a full charge, 40 minutes will get you to 100 percent via the included USB-C cable.

Feed-foward active noise cancelling has now been added and this particular method of ANC uses microphones placed outside the earbud to essentially ‘hear’ the noise before the listener does so it can cancel it first before the signal gets passed on to the listener. While this method is fast and can deal with higher frequency noise better, it doesn’t always get it right.

There’s also an Ambient Listening Mode to let in environmental sounds for added awareness and safety and the left and right earpieces can play music and take calls independently of each other. Sound quality is aided by the company’s custom 10mm Beryllium drivers.

Bluetooth has been upgraded to 5.0 from 4.2 which was used in the previous model and this enables a 30m / 100ft connection range and aptX compatibility.

Compared to the Plus version, the MW07 Go earphones are smaller and lighter, in keeping with their activity oriented purpose and that lightness is aided by the TR90 material from which they are constructed. TR90 is a durable, lightweight composite used in sports sunglasses.

Protection from water and sweat is provided by an IPX6 rating (the MW07 Plus only has IPX5) which makes the MW07 Go ideal for workouts and commuting.

The Go earphones feature the same 10 hour battery life as the Plus but the smaller charging case only manages an additional 12 hours. However, it does also share the same Beryllium driver and beamforming mic arrays which filters out external noise for a clear conversation in any surroundings.

Both models come with five ear tip sizes and three Fit Wing sizes to make sure there’s a comfortable combination for your particular lug’oles.

The MW07 Go True Wireless Earphones will be available in the following colours at £179 - Electric Blue, Flame Red, Jet Black and Stone Grey. Shipping commences Oct 21st

The MW07 Plus True Wireless earphones are available now in the following colours at £279 - Steel Blue, Tortoiseshell, White Marble, Black Quartz.
