LG has confirmed that its bendy G Flex smartphone will be coming to Europe next month.
It wasn’t previously a certainty for our market with many assuming it would only be released in Asia and the US but the company confirmed in a press release earlier today that the contoured OLED phone is scheduled for launch in the U.K., Germany, France, Italy, Sweden and Austria, among others, in February 2014.
The G Flex was confirmed for the US market at CES 2014 earlier this month.
"This is a device that is guaranteed to start a conversation wherever it goes."
"The introduction of the LG G Flex in Europe demonstrates our confidence in the global marketplace for a curved smartphone," said Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. "As a premium smartphone, the G Flex will further establish LG as a brand that offers something unique for every consumer segment. This is a device that is guaranteed to start a conversation wherever it goes."
As a quick recap, the LG G Flex has a Plastic OLED (P-OLED) display which measures six inches diagonally and utilises the world's first curved battery.
It also features a ‘self-healing’ coating on the back cover, making it more or less immune to minor scratches and nicks. The device also includes features such as QTheatre, Dual Window and Swing Lockscreen designed specifically for the curved screen.
