LG Electronics has announced pricing details for its 2023 OLED and QNED TV line-up, with some early pre-order options lined up ahead for the likes of the G3 and C3 which are getting ready to start rolling out to customers by the end of March.

The news comes a few days after we got our first details of Samsung’s 2023 OLED and QLED pricing, offering up an early comparison with LG’s upcoming arrivals which we saw announced back in January. As with Samsung, the new RRPs do fluctuate a little compared to last year’s launch line-up, with a few increases alongside some otherwise largely similar price tags – which, as always, raises the question for those who might be more willing to hold out for the inevitable discounts a bit later in the year.

Podcast overview:

To get straight to it, we don’t have confirmed UK pricing as yet (though a few figures have been reported), with the first official information coming from a combination of LG's US and German newsrooms, among other sources. However, with one eye on the launch prices of LG’s 2022 line-up, it’s not too much of a stretch to make a few fairly safe assumptions on all things pound sterling.

LG's 2023 OLED Pricing

Starting with the 8K Z3 upgrade, that only has European pricing of €29,999 and €14,999 respectively for its all-new 88 and 77-inch models, as the US is sticking with the Z2 into 2023. That’s bang in line with last year’s Z2 launch pricing, so the same £24,999 and £11,999 UK figures should be a pretty solid ballpark figure. As for US residents who are happy to make do without the Z3 upgrades, the Z2 model is currently priced at $25,000 and $9,999, with no pesky waiting times.

Moving on to the 4K OLEDs and the flagship G3 series, it’s worth noting that the US is also sticking with the 97-inch G2 (priced at $24,999) and, as yet, there’s no word on that more European (and other non-US regions) friendly super-sized G3. However, the still not entirely unsubstantial 83-inch version does look to have a UK price tag of £7,499 (€8,699 / $6,499), with the 77-inch model at £4,999 (€6,299 / $4,499), the 65-inch at £3,499 (€3,999 / $3,299) and finally the 55-inch G3 dropping down to an unconfirmed UK RRP but with €2,799 / $2,499 pricing (so UK residents can make a fair guesstimation). Compared to 2022 that looks like a notable increase across the board in terms of launch pricing – with the likes of 83-inch G2 having an original RRP of £6,499 and the 65-inch at £3,299, for example.

European pricing for LG's G3 starts with the 55-inch model at €2,799, rising up to the TBC 97-inch version.

Moving on to the updated 2023 C3 series, that also doesn’t yet seem to have confirmed UK pricing, but we do have European and US RRPs. Starting with the biggest, the 83-inch C3 is priced at €7,299 / $5,299, moving down to the 77-inch version at €5,399 / $3,599. The 65-inch is the lone model to currently have a UK RRP attached, at £2,799 (€3,299 / $2,599), while the 55-inch C3 is only listed at €2,499 / $1,899, the 48-inch at €1,799 / $1,499, and the returning 42-inch version at €1,699 / $1,399. Using those European prices as a guide, the C3 looks set to be roughly the same or a little bit cheaper than the C2 was looking this time last year, with only the 55-inch jumping up (from €2,300).

The B3 will follow a little later in the release schedule, but LG has also shared European and US pricing for those upcoming 77, 65 and 55-inch models – at €4,499 / $3,299, €2,799 / $2,399, and €1,899 / $1,699 respectively. Again, based on last year’s Euro launch prices, they look bang in line with the 2022 RRPs, so it’s no great leap to assume UK owners will be seeing similar price tags in the region of £3,599, £2,599, and £1,799.

There’s no word on the European-friendly A3 line-up at the moment, but you can also use those 2022 prices as a rough guide of what to expect. However, there are quoted US figures for a few others from LG’s 2023 collection, with the 65-inch Signature OLED R getting a $100,000 RRP that’s easy to ignore for most of us. The stylish Posé lifestyle solution is rather more affordable, with the 55-inch version at $1,999 and its 48-inch sibling at $1,699, with LG’s 42-inch OLED Flex display priced at $2,499. One other absentee is the 97-inch Signature OLED M3 with Zero Connect technology – that’s currently lined up for the second half of 2023, with pricing and a more specific release window set to be announced at a later date.

It should be no surprise to see LG offering some tempting deals combined with its own soundbars.

As for release windows we can be rather more specific about, the G3 and C3 are both expected to start pre-orders very shortly (with the exception being the 42-inch C3 which is pencilled in for May). In the US at least this looks to be starting from 06 March, with the TVs ready to start shipping in “late March”, with its German counterpart offering a similar “March” window. The B3 is expected to follow in April, while the Z3 looks like it might top and tail the line-up, with the 77-inch version offered a March window in Europe, with the 88-inch version not due until May.

Of course, you can expect plenty of regional variations, and a check on the UK site already has a pre-order for the C3 combined with a USC9S soundbar (though not the TV on its own, with the standalone soundbar priced at £999 if you want to do some maths). That package tops out with an RRP of £4,999 for the 77-inch TV/soundbar pairing, currently reduced to £3,999 if you use their store, and a further discount to £3,919 for LG Members (with the 65-inch combo similarly discounted from £3,899 to £2,899, and the 55-inch from £3,049 to £2,099). Those can be pre-ordered now up to 13 March, with a 20 March shipping date quoted – so if you’re keen, you might want to keep an eye on your local LG website for more updates and potential deals in the coming days and weeks.

The LG QNED85, with its 4K Mini-LED FALD display, is set to launch in July, starting from €1,999.

LG's 2023 QNED Pricing

LG has also listed some European prices for its new QNED line-up. As can be the case with regional variations (with different products coming under the same banner), we actually have four products listed, offering variations on the core QNED85, 80 and 75 series announced at CES in January – with the notable absence of any updated 8K models for 2023.

First up is the QNED85 (listed under the name QNED866), with the 86-inch version topping the price list at €4,299. Those European RRPs drop down to €3,099 for the 77-inch, €2,299 for the 65-inch display and finally €1,999 for 55-inch version. All of which seem a couple of hundred Euros up on last year’s launch prices, so expect the UK and US prices to follow suit (so perhaps £3,999 down to £1,599).

The possible variations are for the QNED80, with both a QNED826 and QNED816 offering some slight differences, with only the QNED816 listing an 86-inch display, priced at €3,499. They do share the same RRPs for their respective 75, 65, and 55-inch variants – at €2,299, €1,599, and €1,299 – with the one further discrepancy in the 50-inch category, with the 826 listed at €1,199 and the 816 slightly cheaper at €1,099. Besides a small bump in the 50-inch price, this again seems in line with the 2022 models, which had UK pricing from £2,999 for the 86-inch version down to that 50-inch at £949.

The QNED75 (listed at the QNED756) seems rather more straightforward, starting with the 75-inch at €1,899. The 65-inch version comes in at €1,299, with the 55-inch at €949, the 50-inch at €899 and the additional 43-inch model at €699. As for those release dates, the QNED85, or its 866 counterpart, is set to launch in July. Those QNED80 variations should be around sooner with a combination of March and April dates for the varying screen sizes, while the QNED75 (and/or 756) will be the last to arrive with an August window currently listed.

Obviously if you’re looking at the full LG 2023 line-up, that’s quite a lot to take in, but the chances are if you’re familiar with the earlier models you’ll already have a good idea of what is likely to be tempting you this time around. So, how good are those G3 and C3 models sounding now they've got a price tag attached? Would you have hoped or expected something cheaper (and therefore justifying holding out until the summer when the prices start to fall), or are the new and improved models worth splashing out on? Or perhaps you want to wait and see how the prices for those newly-announced Sony TVs compare, or one or two other potential alternatives, before making any concrete choices on what might take pride of place in your home set-up this year?
