Latest Furious 7 Trailer Arrives
The arrival of Furious 7 might well be tinged with sadness following Paul Walker's untimely death but it looks as though the gang are making sure his character goes out in style.
The Fast and the Furious is that rarest of franchises - one that gets better as it progresses. The first film was little more than a remake of Point Break with cars and the absence of Vin Diesel in 2 Fast 2 Furious and all the original cast in Tokyo Drift, diminished the appeal of those films. Things picked up when the original cast got back together for Fast & Furious, whilst the addition of The Rock and a heist plot in Fast Five was just genius. The superb Furious 6 brought the franchise's somewhat convoluted chronology back to the present and introduced Jason Statham's vengeful brother; setting up Furious 7 - well the ingenious titles couldn't last forever.
The idea of Jason Statham handing The Rock his hat just fills us with joy.
Which brings us to the latest trailer and whilst it's going to be hard to top pulling a giant safe through the streets of Rio or chasing the world's biggest plane down the world's longest runway; it looks like they're going to try. As usual the filmmakers have a rather cavalier attitude towards gravity and just how they circumvent Paul Walker's sad demise halfway through filming, remains to be seen. However just watching Jason Statham beating the living daylights out of The Rock and the sight of Kurt Russell is enough to put a smile on any fan's face. With all the original gang back, the film's emphasis on family and even the return of Tokyo Drift's Lucas Black, the 3rd of April can't come quick enough. In the meantime - enjoy!
