Klipsch BAR 40 and BAR 48 Soundbars bound for UK
After launching their latest soundbar range in the US recently, Klipsch has now set their sights on the UK for their BAR 40 and BAR 48 soundbars plus additional SURROUND 3 speakers.
Klipsch has designed the BAR 40 and BAR 48 to maintain a compact footprint (their nomenclature denotes their respective lengths in inches and both are 2.8-inches high) yet provide a fully immersive audio experience. They can be discreetly placed beneath a TV or wall mounted using the included templates.

Mirroring their premium Reference range of speakers, the soundbars' wood enclosures remove the unwanted resonances that often result from plastic constructed bodies and also feature acoustically neutral woven grilles.

Both models come with horn loaded tweeters and a wireless subwoofer. In line with the price differential, the £350 BAR 40 sub features a 6.5-inch speaker while the more expensive BAR 48 (at £565) subwoofer sports an 8-inch speaker.

The BAR 40 is a 2.1 channel device and has a built-in Dolby Audio decoder enabling support for Dolby Digital and Dolby Digital Plus and features enhanced virtual surround sound modes to model the cinema experience.

The BAR 48 adds a dedicated centre channel speaker making the soundbar a 3.1 channel device and, with the option of the additional SURROUND 3 wireless speakers (£268 per pair), it is possible to create a full 5.1 surround system capable of decoding Dolby and DTS 5.1 surround formats. Even as a front focussed 3.1 soundbar, the 3 soft dome tweeters and 4 woofers produce room filling sound and the internal processing provides decoding for Dolby Digital and Digital Plus as well as DTS and DTS-HD.

Both BAR models feature physical HDMI-ARC, 3.5 analogue and optical connections plus Bluetooth wireless connectivity to allow streaming from other Bluetooth devices.

Set up is straight forward and control of the soundbars, including separate adjustment for the soundbar and subwoofer volumes, can be performed via top surface mounted controls or the included remote.
