Finally Native 4K D-ILA

  • JVC are planning to release a native 4K projector that uses a laser light source.
The idea of a JVC projector with a native 4K D-ILA panel and a laser light source would certainly be on many enthusiasts' wish lists but actual details are very thin on the ground at the moment. In fact we don't even know the model number yet and the new projector is so hush-hush that we don't have any proper images of it either, although there is the teaser video below. JVC have also yet to confirm the price.

Of course the news that the manufacturer finally has a native 4K projector to compete with Sony raises more questions than simply what's it called and how much will it be? What type of HDMI inputs will the projector use? Will it be 10- or 12-bit? And what about it's native colour gamut and brightness? The use of a laser light source would hopefully suggest a wider colour gamut and superior High Dynamic Range (HDR) performance.

JVC haven't announced a release date but we'll find out more and get a demo of the new projector at IFA 2016.
