The new Huawei Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro have been announced and there are some interesting specs as these two new flagship handsets incorporate the best technology the brand has to offer.
Mate 20 Pro
The standout device, of the two handsets, is the Huawei Mate 20 Pro, offering a monstrous high-end spec list.
The Mate 20 Pro not only supports wireless charging. But also allows for another handset to be charged by your Mate 20, wirelessly. Talking of battery, the phone has a 4200mAh battery. One of the largest for such a device.
The device uses the new Kirin 980 chip, made by Huawei. It comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage and this can be expanded with a nanoSD card. This card is a new format, from Huawei.
The screen is a 6.4-inch curved OLED, WHD display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The resolution is 3120 x 1440. Pretty impressive.
The camera, or should we say, cameras, sound pretty impressive. There is a 20MP f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle lens, a 40MP f/1.8 wide-angle lens and an 8MP f/2.4 telephoto lens, with OIS and support for 3x optical zoom.
The Mate 20 Pro supports 40W Huawei SuperCharge which can charge the phone to 70% in 30 mins.

Mate 20
Whist the Mate 20 doesn't quite compete with the Mate 20 Pro on specs, it does on price. It features the same Kirin 980 chipset, 6GB RAM (with a 4GB variant too) and the same EMUI user interface based on Android 9.
Whilst the Mate 20 does have three rear cameras, they are not quite as impressive as its bigger brother. The Huawei Mate 20 has a 16MP f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle lens, a 12MP f/1.8 wide-angle lens and an 8MP f/2.4 telephoto lens. Whilst the telephoto lens has optical image stabilization (OIS), like the Pro, it only has a 2x optical zoom.
Storage can be increased up to 256GB further by using the nano SD slot inside, and you're also getting the same colour options too.
The Mate 20 does not support the wireless charging of other phones though. Neither does it support the 40Ww charging, only supporting 22.5W.
Pricing and availability
We have the Euro pricing: €1049 ( £920) for the Mate 20 Pro, and €899 (£790) for the Mate 20 in the 6GB and 128GB variants. However don't be surprised if you see these prices go up for the UK.
