Fox Home Entertainment is set to release its first four Ultra HD titles with the added bonus of HDR support.
This news makes good on Fox’s pledge, earlier in the year, to make UHD and HDR versions of their new and recent catalogue titles and comes off the back of experimentation in mastering the content by Fox Innovation Lab.
The four titles announced are: Kingsman: The Secret Service, The Maze Runner, Life of Pi and Exodus: Gods and Kings so we can expect some absolutely blinding – not literally, hopefully – visuals from those.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the four titles will initially only be made available for purchase on M-Go and can then only be downloaded to the Samsung Video Pack, in light of an exclusivity deal between M-Go and Samsung.
Owners of other brands will need to sit it out a bit longer but the good news is that Fox fully intends to release the movies in a physical format when Ultra HD Blu-ray discs and players become available later in the year.
More UHD with HDR titles are set to be announced in the coming weeks.
