Falcon Acoustics launches Q7 speaker kit

With an expected assembly time of no more than two hours, the Falcon Acoustics Q7 loudspeaker kit is the latest in the company’s [email protected] range.

After introducing the [email protected] series with last year’s IMF100 speaker kit, Falcon Acoustics has announced its second such offering - the Q7 Mini-Monitor home assembly kit.

The new [email protected] Q7 project represents an improvement on the original Malcom Jones designed Q7 kit and is supplied complete with Italian full 'production grade' Baltic birch ply cabinets.

Sharing a similar voicing to the renowned Falcon Acoustics BBC LS3/5a loudspeaker, the Q7 cabinets are specially extended beyond the LS3/5a size to produce an optimum Q = 0.7 system which helps deliver extra bass (+2dB @ 50 Hz).

The new Q7 kit features the Falcon B110 and T27 drive units employed by the Falcon LS3/5a, plus a Falcon 23.2 factory-assembled pre-wired crossover, mirroring the original Malcom Jones design but arranged on a modern multi-layer board.

Cabinet baffles come in a choice of natural Walnut or Rosewood veneers and the cloth grilles are magnetically secured. Finally, the speaker terminals fit the high quality Falcon specification.

The entire assembly can be typically completed in under two hours and the process is made straight forward since all the tools necessary are included in the kit and no soldering is required. For those requiring some additional support during the construction princess, an online instruction manual and YouTube video are available.
