Elipson adds Music Centre Connect HD to Connected range

Circular music player goes Wi-Fi

by Andy Bassett

Elipson updates its Music Centre all-in-one device with the addition of Wi-Fi for multi room and network streaming capabilities.

First introduced back in 2012, the Music Centre underwent an iteration refresh back a few years ago and now comes out of the gates in 2021 as the updated Music Centre Connect HD featuring the full adoption of network streaming functionality which joins the DAB/FM Tuner, CD player and Bluetooth.

The Music Centre Connect HD’s distinctive sleek and circular satin black enclosure houses an integrated amplifier module consisting of two 120W Class D amps which use ICE Power technology.

There’s a comprehensive range of digital and analogue connections, including twin RCAs, a mini-jack and optical input, as well as a pre-out connector to an optional second power amplifier, plus there’s an MP3/WMA USB and Ethernet connector.

The Elipson Music Centre Connect HD is also fitted with a subwoofer out which features an adjustable filter to cover frequencies between 50 and 200 Hz, thus maintaining the optimal compatibility with the main speaker.

As far as wireless connectivity is concerned, high resolution music files up to 24 bit are handled by aptX HD Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi can be used for playing Hi-Res audio files in Solo mode or CD quality audio files in Multi-room mode. Meanwhile, music services including Qobuz, Spotify, Tidal, Deezer, Internet Radio etc. are available and stored music files can also be streamed.

Control of the Music Centre Connect HD is available in a number of ways starting with the Elipson Connect App which enables interoperability with other Elipson Connected products such as the Planet W35 speaker, Connect Wi-Fi receiver and Connect streaming amp, all of which can be located in other rooms to create a truly connected home music system. There’s also a touch panel user interface situated beneath the CD slot and included remote for hands on operation.
