Danish speaker specialist, Dynaudio, is bringing its 40 years of experience to the UK’s custom installation industry.
The Dynaudio Custom Studio range uses the same core technology and research that have made the company’s hi-fi, pro-studio and automotive speakers popular but places it all in pre-install mounts, unique tool-free clip-in speaker modules, and completes the picture with near-invisible paintable magnetic grilles.
The product family consists of in-ceiling and in-wall speakers. Both come in 6.5in and 8in versions, and they all use Dynaudio’s 1-ichn soft-dome tweeters. The in-ceiling speakers are angled 18˚ and can be rotated 360˚ in their mounts to fine-tune their firing direction. They fit to the mounts without damaging (or re-doing) the walls or ceilings, and their paintable magnetic grilles means they should blend in discretely with the room. The in-wall frames mount either way up for more flexibility and, like the in-ceiling units, feature Dynaudio’s patent-pending tool-free speaker-mounting mechanism.
Users with multichannel home-cinema systems can use Dynaudio’s in-wall speakers too, to ensure absolute tonal consistency as there’s also an LCR variant – the S4-LCR65 system. It lets users create bespoke vertically or horizontally oriented left, centre and right three-way speaker channels that fit around wall-studs without cutting. And because the grilles are independent of their frames, their positions can be adjusted to satisfy the requirements of architects and interior designers.
All Dynaudio Custom Studio speakers use the company’s soft-dome tweeters with neodymium magnet systems; proprietary MSP (Magnesium Silicate Polymer) cones; and large-diameter aluminium voice-coils with internal magnet systems.
